Does Kick Cashback have a referral or sign-up bonus?

Category: Getting Started

Kick Cashback's main reward isn't a bonus — it's the cashback itself. The rates you earn at 1,000+ Australian and international retailers, paid into your bank account instantly (receiving banks can take 1-3 business days to show the funds) with no minimum claim, are the headline value. We don't try to mask a worse cashback rate behind a flashy one-off bonus, which is the pattern shoppers often regret signing up for elsewhere.

What we currently offer new shoppers

From time to time we run a small welcome credit for first-time shoppers — typically a few dollars added once your first eligible purchase moves to Available to claim. Cashback bonuses are only credited once the eligible transaction is approved by the merchant, and this approval may take some time — the exact timing depends on the retailer confirming your purchase (for example, after any return or cancellation window has passed). Any active welcome offer is shown directly on the Kick Cashback dashboard at kickpay.co when you sign in for the first time, so you'll see it without having to hunt for it. If there's no welcome credit visible, none is currently running.

Why we don't run very large sign-up bonuses

Big sign-up bonuses are usually funded one of two ways: by paying shoppers a lower ongoing cashback rate, or by adding a hidden minimum-spend or hold period before the bonus is released. Both approaches make the value worse for shoppers who stick around for the long term. Our model is simpler: the cashback rate you see on each retailer's page is what you earn on every order, day one and day one thousand.

Friend referrals

If you have an active Kick Cashback account, you can tell friends about Kick Cashback directly — there's no formal referral code or "earn $20 when your friend signs up" structure baked in. We may run referral promotions periodically; when we do, the details appear in your dashboard. Outside those windows the simplest way to recommend Kick Cashback is to share www.kickcashback.com.au or send your friend to the About page so they can read who's behind it.

Partner retailer promotions

Individual retailers in the Kick Cashback portal sometimes run boosted-rate promotions — for example, double cashback on a particular weekend, or a special new-customer rate at a specific store. These are visible on the store's page in your Kick Cashback portal, with a clearly marked end date. They're funded by the retailer (not by Kick reducing its share), so the boosted rate flows fully through to you.

About Kick Cashback

Our Experience

We are a first-party cashback platform — we work directly with retailers rather than reselling another company's network. Our team negotiates cashback rates, manages partner relationships, and processes payments in-house. According to industry data published by IAB Australia, partner and cashback marketing represented over $1 billion in tracked Australian retail sales in 2024 (source: IAB Australia Online Advertising Expenditure Report). Kick Cashback is part of this growing sector and is committed to passing the majority of retailer commissions back to shoppers as cashback.

Our editorial team draws on direct experience working with major Australian retailers and global partner networks. We publish detailed cashback information, retailer terms, and shopping guides based on first-hand knowledge of how cashback tracking, attribution, and payments work. Where industry standards or regulatory guidance applies — such as the Australian Consumer Law administered by the ACCC, or the Privacy Act 1988 administered by the OAIC — we cite the relevant source so readers can verify our claims.
